Your Preparation
- It is advisable to have completed all building and installing before sanding and coating your floors.
- Complete all painting (except the final coat on shirtings) in rooms to be sanded.
- The areas to be sanded should be cleared of all furniture, mats, rugs, etc.
- A 240 Volt power supply is required as well as adequate lighting.
- Find a temporary home for all your pets, as the polyurethane fumes are very toxic.
- Turn off all air-conditioning and heating units prior to the sanding and coating. These should not be used for the duration of the entire job and for another 48 hours after.
- Ensure you leave contact details so that we can contact you if anything unexpected occurs during the procedure, for example a previous stain
Notes
- We do not recommend the filling of gaps running between boards as it may crack as the boards shrink and expand. However we will do so if requested, at a slight extra cost.
- The floor takes 24 hours to dry and must not be walked on during this period.
- Try not to place furniture on your newly polished floor for at least 72 hours after the last coat.
